Busy at work, busy at home, busy during the weekdays and on the weekends, too. Life has become such a roller-coaster ride for all of us. And while we are busy juggling various roles and responsibilities, we all want to look our best and feel energetic at all times- always. Period.
But the reality is that with our busy schedules, we may not be able to go out of the house and hit the gym no matter how much we want to. So what should we do? Give up our dream of being fit and have a super body?
No- NOT AT ALL!!! The solution is to carve out a little time in the comfort of one’s home daily and burn calories. This is the surest way to look awesome and feel great! For those of you who follow my blog know that I believe in the power of Yoga and in this blog, you will learn of 4 simple yogasanas to help achieve your goal.
- Trikonasana– This asana looks deceptively simple but it targets the fat accumulated on the midriff region- the love handles and the pot-belly! Begin by standing with your feet shoulder width apart and as you raise right arm up over your head, bend down on the left side and try to touch your ankles. In the beginning, do two sets on each side. You may take this up to 10 sets gradually. The following info-graphic will guide you.
- Varasana-Diamond pose– Another simple pose to perform, this can be done anywhere. Be it on a rug in your office or at home, vajrasana helps to increase the metabolism. It is also known to be effective in burning belly fat. The right time to perform this asana is after each meal. However, one may not have time to do after three meals daily so do try this after dinner as that is the time when we are usually at home.
- Naukasana– This yogasana derives it’s name from the shape your body is in- that of a boat (nauka in Hindi). Performing this asana regularly helps relieve bloating and symptoms of constipation, too. This asana also activates the internal organs like the liver, pancreas and kidneys thus enhancing metabolism.
- Suryanamaskar– This is a sequence of 12 asanas performed together and providing immense benefits to the body. Suryanamaskar helps to tone the shoulder, arm, abdominal muscles along with the thigh muscles. To learn how to perform suryanamaskar properly you can use this video tutorial, too.
Yoga is an ancient Indian science which is easy to follow and can provide immense benefits to the practitioner. You too can reap these benefits and the best pat is that you don’t need to invest in expensive equipment or sports gear. Yoga can be done in the comfort of your home at any time.
